Having A Non-Ideal Bite

If you have a non-ideal bite you may think that there in no issue. Unfortunately, you’ve been misinformed. Having a non-ideal bite, or malocclusion, can lead to Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD).
TMD is a chronic degenerative disease that affects millions of people. The majority of people that suffer TMD may be aware of their symptoms, but not understand why these symptoms occur. Symptoms of TMD are many and varied. We have tried to list as many as possible, but there are others you may find:
- Headaches / Migraines
- Jaw joint pain
- Jaw joint clicking or popping
- Facial pain
- Neck and shoulder pain
- Limited jaw movement or locking jaw
- Ear congestion
- Vertigo (dizziness)
- Tinnitus (Ringing in the ears)
- Difficulty swallowing
- Grinding and clenching
- Unexplained loose teeth
- Tender, sensitive teeth
- Worn or cracked teeth
- Postural problems
- Numbness/tingling in the fingers and arms
- Insomnia
- Nervousness or depression
